Dr. Ravi Seshadri, DVM, DipABVP, DipACVECC
Critical Care
Dr. Ravi Seshadri was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and raised primarily in India.
After completing his BVSC degree, followed by a rotational internship, at the Madras Veterinary College in India, he completed his veterinary equivalency requirements for the US and was licensed in 1989. He began working in small animal emergency medicine and has worked in specialty referral facilities since 1991. Dr. Seshadri completed requirements for ABVP certification in Canine/Feline Medicine in 1996, and an alternate-pathway residency program in Emergency & Critical Care, becoming certified in 1999.
Dr. Seshadri opened ACC&IM in 2000, and is ACC&IM’s Chief of Staff. Since its inception, ACC&IM has been dedicated to training students, residents and community veterinarians and their staffs by providing continuing education opportunities.
Ravi has served on the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Credentials Committee and is a current serving member of the Exam Committee and the Joint Committee.
Dr. Seshadri’s major professional interests include emergency surgery, continuous renal replacement, and critical patient care.
Dr. Seshadri’s hobbies include motor sports and horseback riding. He is married with three children.
Dr. Laura Najman received her veterinary degree from the University of California at Davis in 1999. She completed a rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Animal Medical Center in New York City. Upon completion of her internship in 2000, Dr. Najman joined ACC&IM as a staff emergency doctor. In 2001 she became a resident in Emergency and Critical Care at ACC&IM under the mentorship of Dr. Ravi Seshadri.
Dr. Shenandoah Diehl graduated with the class of 2002 at the University of California Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. She completed her internship in Emergency & Critical Care at the Emergency Animal Clinic in Wisconsin prior to returning to her hometown in Southern California.
Dr. Heather Mineo graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, located on the Caribbean island of St. Kitts in 2000.
Dr. Walters is a 1992 graduate of Louisiana State University’s School of Veterinary Medicine. After spending a year in private practice, Dr. Walters completed an internship at the Dallas Veterinary Surgical Center. For the next seven years, he stayed in private practice where he co-managed a large emergency service, then returned to academia to pursue advanced training in Emergency and Critical Care at the Colorado State University. In 2004, he completed his residency training program and earned his Master’s degree in clinical sciences. He became board certified through the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care and joined a private specialty practice in Virginia, where he served as Director of the Critical Care Unit until his relocation to Southern Orange County to join ACCIM. When not caring for his cases, Dr. Walters enjoys hiking and other outdoor activities with his wife and son.
Dr. Gary Jon Uyeno received his veterinary degree from Iowa State University in 1992. After graduating, Dr. Uyeno secured an internship and residency in small animal surgery at a private practice specialty hospital. During this training, Dr. Uyeno enjoyed helping teach interns, which in turn lead him to become a professor at Mt. San Antonio College in 1999 where he instructs students to become veterinary nurses (Registered Veterinary Technicians). His goal is to educate Veterinary Technicians to allow them to successfully pass their state board licensing examination and to give them the practical and technical skills needed to succeed in practice. During his surgical training, Dr. Uyeno’s interests in medicine gradually changed to emergency medicine and critical care with an emphasis on emergency surgery and he joined ACC&IM in 2001.
Dr. Dayna Zane was born and raised in Hawaii where her love of animals led her to work as a technician at a local veterinary hospital while still in high school. She first obtained her Bachelor of Science in Distributed Studies in 1986 and then her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1989 from Iowa State University. She went on to gain valuable experience by working with several general practices and emergency hospitals. Dr. Zane joined the team at Advanced Critical Care and Internal Medicine as a staff veterinarian in 2001. Dr. Zane lives with her husband, two children and family cats. When she isn’t working, she enjoys cycling and jogging.
Dr. David Kogan emigrated from Kiev, Ukraine at a young age and has lived most of his life in Southern California. He attended the University of California Santa Barbara and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then graduated from the University of California Davis School Of Veterinary Medicine in 2008, and went on to complete a rotating internship in internal medicine, radiology, and soft tissue & orthopedic surgery at the Veterinary Medical and Surgical Group in Ventura, California.
